Q: Do I have to go where my Doctor has referred me to?

A: No, YOU CAN CHOOSE where to have your procedure done.

Q: Do I need a referral to come and have an x-ray or an ultrasound?

A: Yes, you will need a referral for all procedures except for a 3D obstetric ultrasound.

Q: When will the results get back to my Doctor?

A: Results will be with your Doctor next working day, however if something more urgent is identified during your examination, your Referring Doctor will be informed immediately.

Q: Do I need to take my images straight back to my Doctor?

A: Unless your Doctor has specifically asked to see you straight away, simply take the images along to your next scheduled appointment. Your Doctor will already have received a written report from our radiologist.

Q: Do I need to make an appointment?

A: Yes, you always need to make an appointment for ultrasound. We strongly advise you to make an appointment for x-ray in order to avoid a wait behind others who have pre-booked. However, if you do not have an x-ray appointment we will always endeavour to fit you in.

Q: Do I need to inform you if my appointment is related to a Workers Compensation Injury?

A: Yes, we need to know all insurance and employer details so that approval can be sought prior to your procedure. If approval is not obtained prior, we may not be able to perform your procedure. For more information, please see the workers compensation page.

Q: How long is my referral valid for?

A: All referrals are valid for 12 months from date of issue.

Q: What if my referral is for another company?

A: It doesn’t matter. All companies accept each other’s referrals, unless your referral is specifically addressed to a Doctor. For example: Dear Dr Smith.
